USB 3.2 Gen 2 Fiber Optic Extension Cable – 10Gbps USB-A Male to Female Active Optical Cable (AOC)

Extend your USB devices up to 131ft away from your computer with fast, lossless data transfer. This USB-A male to female active optical cable (AOC) carries high-speed signals over fiber optic and low-speed signals over copper, so it delivers USB 3.2 Gen 2 speeds up to 10Gbps over distances where ordinary copper USB extension cables stop working.

It is backward compatible with USB 3.1, 3.0, 2.0 and 1.1, and its advanced chip transmits the complete USB signal spectrum. It is thin (5.0mm), lightweight and flexible, so it routes easily through conduits, walls and ceilings. That makes it ideal for homes, conference rooms, offices, classrooms and building-wide installations.

  • USB 3.2 Gen 2, 10Gbps: fast, lossless data transfer
  • Long distance: 16ft, 33ft, 49ft, 66ft, 82ft, 98ft, 115ft and 131ft
  • Hybrid fiber design: fiber optic and tinned copper for stable long-distance transmission
  • Backward compatible with USB 3.1 / 3.0 / 2.0 / 1.1
  • Micro-USB auxiliary power port for power-hungry devices

Key Features
  • USB 3.2 Gen 2 Speed: Data transfer rates up to 10Gbps between your computer and USB devices.
  • Backward Compatible: Works with USB 3.1, 3.0, 2.0 and 1.1 devices and ports.
  • Long-Distance Lossless Transmission: Extends USB signals from 16ft up to 131ft without delay.
  • Hybrid Fiber Optic Technology: Fiber optic carries high-speed signals and copper carries low-speed signals, which removes the distance limits of traditional copper USB cables.
  • Complete USB Signal Transmission: An advanced optoelectronic chip transmits the complete USB signal spectrum.
  • Interference Resistant: Fiber optic transmission resists electromagnetic (EMI) and radio frequency (RFI) interference.
  • Excellent Compatibility: Fully meets USB-A requirements for seamless use with a wide range of devices and systems.
  • Auxiliary Power Port: A built-in Micro-USB port supplies extra power to devices that draw more than 2W, or whenever the USB port's power is not enough.
  • Plug and Play: Easy to install, with no software or drivers required.
  • Durable Build: Strong zinc alloy metal shell, nickel-plated connectors and ESD protection for long-lasting use.
  • Thin and Flexible: Its 5.0mm outer diameter, light weight and small bending radius make conduit installation easy.

Compatible Devices

Host devices (USB-A male end): Desktop computers, laptops, mini PCs and game consoles.

USB devices (USB-A female end): Keyboards, mice, printers, cameras and webcams, VR headsets, USB flash drives and hard disk drives.

Perfect for: Conference and meeting rooms, classrooms, offices, home setups, VR and gaming spaces, and multi-room building installations.

Tip: If your device draws more than 2W, such as an external hard drive, VR headset or camera, or doesn't work reliably, connect external power to the cable's Micro-USB port.

How to Connect

This is a directional active optical cable, and each connector is labeled. To connect it:

  1. Plug the "Host" USB-A male connector into your computer, laptop, mini PC or game console.
  2. Plug your USB device (keyboard, mouse, printer, camera, drive and so on) into the "Device" USB-A female connector.
  3. If the device needs more power, connect a power source to the Micro-USB port. No software or drivers are required.

Note: Do not connect the cable backwards. The Host end must connect to the USB host (computer) and the Device end to the USB device.

Installation & Care Tips
  • When routing through pipes or conduit at a 90° angle, use a right-angle fitting with a curved joint.
  • Lay the cable out carefully in a slot or channel to avoid scratching the jacket.
  • Do not forcefully pull, twist or knot the cable.
  • The maximum tensile (pulling) force is 10kg, so do not pull the cable hard during installation.
  • Do not hit, impact or smash the connectors, as this can damage the internal chip.
  • When plugging or unplugging, hold the zinc alloy connector housing and never pull on the cable body.
Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the maximum data transfer speed?

A: Up to 10Gbps (USB 3.2 Gen 2). Actual speed depends on your computer's USB port and the connected device.

Q: Will it work with older USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 devices?

A: Yes. It is backward compatible with USB 3.1, 3.0, 2.0 and 1.1.

Q: Does it need external power?

A: In most cases, no. It runs on the computer's USB port power (5V/900mA). For devices that draw more than 2W, or when the port's power is insufficient, use the Micro-USB port for extra power.

Q: Can I plug it in either direction?

A: No. Connect the "Host" end to your computer and the "Device" end to your USB device.

Q: Why choose a fiber optic USB cable over a regular USB extension cable?

A: Regular copper USB 3.0 extension cables lose signal over long runs. This fiber optic cable keeps data transfer stable from 16ft to 131ft, resists EMI and RFI interference, and is thinner and lighter for easier installation.

Q: Can it be installed in walls or conduit?

A: Yes. Its 5.0mm diameter and flexible design support conduit installation. Follow the installation tips above.
